SERDE [Artist in residence]
The interdisciplinary art group SERDE is a public association organisation, which seeks to develop the regional and international collaboration between different culture fields, organizations and professionals. Kati Hyyppä and I have been accepted to a residency program here for 2 weeks in June. We will be working with e-textiles and traditional Latvian single-women's crowns!
MoA opening [Exhibition]

E-embroidery @ Camp Pixelache [Exhibition]
We welcome everyone to see the wonderful outcomes of the workshop in May in Helsinki. The creative works will be exhibited at the Open Design, Crafts & Manufacturing demo-stalls at Arbis adult education centre during Camp Pixelache on 12.5.2012.

E-embroidery workshop [Workshop]
The e-embroidery workshop was organized by Ramyah Gowrishankar and Kati Hyyppä 17.-18.3.2012 in Helsinki at the Cable Factory as a part of Pixelversity. The workshop explored the marriage of traditional embroidery and electronics, embracing crafting traditions and open design.

Textile Interactions Lab[Work space]
Textiles Interaction Lab (textIL) is a project coordinated by Ramyah Gowrishankar and Raija Jokinen. It is supported by Aalto Media Factory and works in collaboration with the Department of Design at ARTS. The project will run from March – Dec 2012.

I am graduating this december 2011 from my Masters studies at the Media Lab Helsinki, Aalto University!
The Music Sleeve: Fabric as an electronic interface medium [Paper Publication]
A paper written by me and co-authored by Katharina Bredies and Rosan Chow from Design Research Lab, UDK Berlin is going to be published as part of Nordes - a nordic design research conference.
The conference this year will be held in Helsinki, 29-31 May 2011.

Koskettelutyöt ("Tactile-works")[Research]
An investigation into using non-visual media in art and design practice. A project started in collaboration with Liisa Tervinen - a New media Artist from Finland.
We recently participated in a workshop called "Tee Koskettelukirja" (Design a Tactile Book) at the Kalliolan Setlementtiopisto, Helsinki. Tactile books are designed for visually impaired children and are equivalent to picture books for seeing children. read more..
